About the 100 Movement
The first 100 Women Who Care group was formed in November 2006 in Jackson, Michigan, USA. At their first 1 hour meeting, the Jackson chapter raised $10,000 which went toward the purchase of 300 new baby cribs for an organization in their city.
Today, there are over 83 chapters 100 Women groups in North America including one in the City of Kawartha Lakes.
The movement is spreading across Canada and at last count there are now over 39 100 Men groups.
And there is now a 100 Who Care Alliance!
Richard Gauder has co-founded 100MenScugog.ca, 100MenOshawa.ca, 100MenWhitby.ca, 100MenClarington.ca and has helped get others off the ground. After moving to Kawartha Lakes in 2017, it just seemed like a great idea to start one with his long term friend John Richardson. After contacting the City of Kawartha Lakes, they were put in touch with Aaron Young. The three of them gathered local big hearted guys. The first meeting was held March 13, 2018 with 36 members. After 100 Men of Oshawa member Brad Campkin moved up to Kawartha Lakes, he quickly joined and added his enthusiasm. Today the 100 Men of Kawartha Lakes has over 150 members!
